LEARN MORE ABOUT TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICES

Meet EMILY COATES

Emily Coates is a Trauma-Informed Somatic Relationship Coach who specializes in supporting individuals recovering from Narcissistic Abuse Fallout and emotionally unsafe relationship dynamics. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of the nervous system, the mind-body connection, and the ways early and relational trauma shape patterns of attachment, self-worth, and emotional regulation.

Emily’s professional journey began in the field of Agricultural Science, where she developed a strong foundation in systems thinking, observation, and evidence-based practice. However, a profound personal turning point—the breakdown of her marriage—led her to shift her focus toward understanding the human nervous system, trauma responses, and relational healing. This lived experience informs her compassionate, grounded approach and allows her to meet clients with both empathy and clarity.

Her coaching integrates trauma-informed somatic practices, Positive Psychology, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Rather than focusing solely on insight or mindset, Emily helps clients understand how their bodies hold stress, fear, and protective patterns—especially after prolonged emotional manipulation, gaslighting, or relational harm. By working with both the nervous system and internal protective parts, clients learn how to move out of survival states and into greater self-trust, safety, and emotional resilience.

Emily is particularly attuned to the widespread lack of emotional regulation she sees in everyday interactions, relationships, and workplaces, and she situates individual healing within the context of the broader global mental health crisis. Her work supports clients in developing practical tools for regulation, boundaries, and self-connection, while also honoring the deeper wounds that require patience and care.

Committed to ongoing growth, Emily is continuing her training in Somatic Hypnotherapy to further support nervous system healing and subconscious integration. Her approach is thoughtful, non-pathologizing, and empowering—helping clients reconnect with themselves, rebuild healthy relational patterns, and move forward with greater clarity and stability.
